Air Quality Monitoring Across India

Stay informed about air quality conditions across India with our comprehensive AQI monitoring system. We provide real-time air pollution data for all major states and cities, helping millions of Indians make informed decisions about their health and outdoor activities.

Understanding Air Quality Index (AQI)

The Air Quality Index is a standardized indicator of air quality. It tells you how clean or polluted your air is, and what associated health effects might be a concern. The AQI focuses on health effects you may experience within a few hours or days after breathing polluted air.

0-50: Good
Air quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
51-100: Moderate
Air quality is acceptable for most people.
101-150: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups
Sensitive groups may experience health effects.
151-200: Unhealthy
Everyone may begin to experience health effects.
201-300: Very Unhealthy
Health alert: everyone may experience more serious effects.
301-500: Hazardous
Health warnings of emergency conditions.

Pollutants We Monitor

  • PM2.5: Fine particulate matter that can penetrate deep into the lungs
  • PM10: Coarse particulate matter from dust, pollen, and mold
  • Ozone (O₃): Ground-level ozone, a major component of smog
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO): A colorless, odorless gas from vehicle emissions

Why Monitor Air Quality?

Air pollution is a major environmental health concern in India. Poor air quality can cause respiratory problems, cardiovascular issues, and aggravate existing health conditions. By monitoring AQI levels, you can:

  • Plan outdoor activities when air quality is better
  • Take preventive measures on high pollution days
  • Protect vulnerable family members (children, elderly, those with respiratory conditions)
  • Make informed decisions about using air purifiers
  • Understand pollution patterns in your area

Data Sources and Accuracy

Our AQI data is sourced from the Google Air Quality API, which aggregates data from government monitoring stations, scientific sensors, and verified sources. All measurements follow US EPA standards to ensure consistency and accuracy. Data is updated every 10 minutes to provide the most current air quality information.
